You may now contribute to the church’s ministry by means of ACH transactions direct from your bank account. You may sign up for either a one-time transfer, or a monthly transfer on the Monday closest to the 15th. Sign up using forms in the church narthex and return to Taylor Dabney in the church office.
Elementary School Music continues with Ken Davis until Sunday, May 8th. Last update we mistakenly said it’d continue until May 15th.
Care of Creation
Leaders from 191 nations agree that we must make profound changes in countless areas of our lives. This changes what is morally expected of you and me, and almost all of us. Once we know that the heat accumulating on the Earth because of human emissions is roughly equal to the heat that would be released by 400,000 Hiroshima atomic bombs exploding across the planet every day, what adjustments are we called to make? Care of Creation is the most enormous challenge of our lives.
Hiding in Plain Sight, Will the real Queen Esther Please Stand Up?
Rabbi Rob Cabelli will be leading the Seekers class in discussion of the shockingly modern themes of the book of Esther continuing April 24th. Seekers meet at 9:00am on Sundays. All are welcome!
Camp Sunday & Pilgrim Heights Summer Camp
May 1st will be Camp Sunday at our Church. A short skit is planned to talk about Pilgrim Heights Programming for all ages – including Day Camp. Some scholarship help is available from our church – through our Outreach Board.
Camp forms for Pilgrim Heights Summer Camp are now available in the church office and online.
Meals on Wheels
The next Outreach project for UCC is March 28-April 29 delivering Meals on Wheels. Some 35+ dedicated volunteers will cover 4 different routes (M-F) throughout Grinnell. Those who receive meals are most appreciative and we on the Outreach Board are grateful for our caring volunteers.
Anytime someone enters the hospital or Mayflower Health Center, or in any case of trauma, distress, or death, please do not assume that word has reached the church. Contact the church office by email or phone to share information with the pastor. Cameron can be reached by mobile phone at 336-247-2582.
In Our Prayers
We hold to the heart of our congregation and lift up to the embrace of God all who are in need of prayer. To contribute prayer concerns to the whole church, please contact the church office.
JoAnn Orr, and Bob Hatch, who are in the Mayflower Health Center.
